About JetSmarter

JetSmarter was founded in 2012 by Russian Entrepreneur Sergey Petrossov and is one of the most prominent private jet startups. It started in the US, with its headquarters in Florida, and has now started to expand into Europe, focusing not only on the main European cities and financial centres, but also on the major holiday hotspots such as Ibiza and Nice – targeting the many weekend jet setters.

Everything is done from their slick app and people pay a yearly fee to join one of JetSmarter’s three different membership tiers which gets them access to the private jet booking system:

  • ‘SIMPLE’ costs $5000 per year and it grants you access to the app which then lets you book “empty leg” flights for free.
  • ‘SMART’ lets you book seats on jets chartered by JetSmarter that run regularly scheduled flights, and also lets you charter your own jet. This is the most popular type of membership and costs $15,000 a year.
  • ‘SOPHISTICATED’ costs $50,000 and lets you make four outstanding reservations, and you can book seats for other people, even if you’re not on the flight.

JetSmarter Operations

Jet Shuttles:  Scheduled flights throughout Europe, North America, and the Middle East. These are posted a month in advance on the app and members can book on all shuttles under 3 hours at no extra cost to them.

Jet Deals: These flights are all complimentary for members. They are repositioning legs for fully paid charter trips and they are flying empty. JetSmarter allows members to ride on these legs and bring guests at no extra cost as well. JS post thousands of these legs every month.

On Demand Charter: If you need to charter a private jet, the JetSmarter app is able to show you options within 30 seconds. It will show you pictures, pricing, safety ratings, and tons of other information so you can make an informed decision and make a request right through the app within minutes of your time.

Members also have access to 24/7 concierge services who can assist with any lifestyle need you can think of.

JetSmarter connects travellers to flights in 50 markets around the world, including New York, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Atlanta, London, Paris, Moscow, Dubai, Milan and other business and leisure travel hubs.

Founder Sergey Petrossov said he wants to expand to be available in 80 to 100 markets by the end of 2017.

Enjoying White Turf St Moritz 2017

Since 1907 White Turf has taken place in St Moritz; where the international horse racing community gathers around the frozen St Moritz Lake for three February weekends of horse racing and winter fun.

With 35,000 spectators the White Turf set up is really incredible with huge tents set up on the lake around the racing track offering everything from food, alcohol and entertainment. One can either purchase a normal ticket for just CHF 20 and is free to browse around and bet on the horses, or you can be invited into one of the VIP tents.

BMW (one of the 3 main sponsors alongside Longines and Credit Suisse) kindly invited us into their amazing VIP tent overlooking the tracks and hosted us for the day. The set up of their tent was outstanding, offering incredible foods paired with some of the best wines. Additionally they had an oyster bar, a caviar stand and a beautiful cheese display.

The atmosphere was intimate, exclusive and we were able to see the races in pole position. Next to their VIP tent BMW also had a separate tent showcasing their latest models including the new M3 and M6 in a new super cool frosted tint .

We really encourage you to experience the White Turf as it makes the perfect day out to enjoy with family and friends.

Biodynamic Wine: no hangover alternative?

“Ladies and gentleman let me introduce you to your new lifesaver : biodynamic wine !” says Olivia Innocenti Buckley of the Wild Free Innocent lifestyle blog.

Biodynamic Wine Production

What is Biodynamic?

Biodynamic refers to a particular type of farming that doesn’t use chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. Biodynamic agriculture is based on the work of Rudolf Steiner who aimed at the ecological self-sufficiency of farms as cohesive, interconnected living systems.

Biodynamic wine essentially means that no chemicals or fertilizers are allowed , which in turn makes the wine sulphite free and that is the good news as it is the sulphites which give us those horrid hangovers !

The Production of Biodynamic Wine

There are only about 620 biodynamic wine producers in the world as it is very difficult to achieve the biodynamic status. Prices of these are also a bit higher than your typical bottle due to the complex production process but totally worth it.

First of all you really feel you are drinking a cleaner more refined wine, secondly you can smell and taste the fruity hints much more and last but not the least you will not have a sore head the next day. This has been tried and tested by yours truly on several different occasions and never once did I feel bad the next day after drinking biodynamic wine !

It is slowly but surely finally becoming more popular so you can find some at your local supermarket (Waitrose has about 20 different types) and ask for some biodynamic wine at restaurants.

More than Organic

Make sure it is not only organic – it has to fully be biodynamic !

The Biodynamic Wine process : a holistic view of agriculture.

  • Fruit Days – ideal for harvesting
  • Root Days – ideal for pruning
  • Flower Days – ideal for resting
  • Leaf days- ideal for watering plants

Try it for Yourself

If you want a real taste of excellent biodynamic wine, head to 40 Maltby Street in London which has an incredible selection of chemical and pesticide-free wines and a delicious kitchen serving rustic organic food.

Michelangelo Pistoletto at Blenheim Palace

There is an incredible exhibition currently on show at Blenheim Palace of Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto who is the extraordinary artist considered the founding father of the Arte Povera movement and who has continually pushed boundaries since the 1960’s with his provocative and playful works.

Pistoletto at Blenheim Palace

This solo exhibition showcases over fifty of Pistoletto’s individual works spanning from paintings, sculptures and site specific installations. Classical antiquity is seen to be colliding with post-war consumerism in his Venus of the Rags piece ( see image below) where the classical goddess is leaning against a large pile of waste material. This work clearly exemplifies the artists anti establishment use of cheap materials to make high art, a provocative move which started an artistic revolution and cemented him as one of the most influential artists of the 20th Century.

Pistoletto at Blenheim Palace

This is the third exhibition organised by The Blenheim Art Foundation which was founded in 2014 with an inaugural show by controversial Chinese contemporary artist and activist Ai Wei Wei . Following the success of Ai Wei Wei’s exhibition the foundation in 2015 showcased a solo exhibition of Lawrence Weiner, considered the founding figure of Conceptual Art.

Pistoletto at Blenheim Palace

The non profit organisation established by dedicated collector of contemporary art  Lord Edward Spencer Churchill aims to challenge convention by breaking away form the “white cube” gallery way of presenting contemporary art today. The foundation engages and excites visitors with unique contemporary bodies of work against the spectacular background of the Palace creating an ever so trending blend of classical and contemporary. Set in 2000 acres of parkland, the Palace is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987 and was famously known as Sir Winston Churchill’s birthplace.

Michelangelo Pistoletto at Blenheim Palace runs from 15th September – 31st December 2016 – please visit website HERE
