H. Barnes and Co associate Olivia Innocenti Buckley was recently appointed as a brand ambassador of private jet company JetSmarter.

About JetSmarter

JetSmarter was founded in 2012 by Russian Entrepreneur Sergey Petrossov and is one of the most prominent private jet startups. It started in the US, with its headquarters in Florida, and has now started to expand into Europe, focusing not only on the main European cities and financial centres, but also on the major holiday hotspots such as Ibiza and Nice – targeting the many weekend jet setters.

Everything is done from their slick app and people pay a yearly fee to join one of JetSmarter’s three different membership tiers which gets them access to the private jet booking system:

  • ‘SIMPLE’ costs $5000 per year and it grants you access to the app which then lets you book “empty leg” flights for free.
  • ‘SMART’ lets you book seats on jets chartered by JetSmarter that run regularly scheduled flights, and also lets you charter your own jet. This is the most popular type of membership and costs $15,000 a year.
  • ‘SOPHISTICATED’ costs $50,000 and lets you make four outstanding reservations, and you can book seats for other people, even if you’re not on the flight.

JetSmarter App

JetSmarter Operations

Jet Shuttles:  Scheduled flights throughout Europe, North America, and the Middle East. These are posted a month in advance on the app and members can book on all shuttles under 3 hours at no extra cost to them.

Jet Deals: These flights are all complimentary for members. They are repositioning legs for fully paid charter trips and they are flying empty. JetSmarter allows members to ride on these legs and bring guests at no extra cost as well. JS post thousands of these legs every month.

On Demand Charter: If you need to charter a private jet, the JetSmarter app is able to show you options within 30 seconds. It will show you pictures, pricing, safety ratings, and tons of other information so you can make an informed decision and make a request right through the app within minutes of your time.

Members also have access to 24/7 concierge services who can assist with any lifestyle need you can think of.

JetSmarter connects travellers to flights in 50 markets around the world, including New York, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Atlanta, London, Paris, Moscow, Dubai, Milan and other business and leisure travel hubs.

Founder Sergey Petrossov said he wants to expand to be available in 80 to 100 markets by the end of 2017.

Jean Pigozzi : Pool Party in The Snow

Last weekend Joshua Buckley of H.Barnes & Co accompanied the luxury lifestyle blogger Wild Free Innocent to the opening of a fantastic solo exhibition in St Moritz at the renowned Galerie Gmurzynska showcasing the photographs of Jean Pigozzi.

Influenced by Helmut Newton, William Klein and Robert Frank, Johnny Pigozzi’s photographs are snapshots of his close friends and companions which range from pop stars to musicians that he met on his extensive travels around the world.

The thirty black and white photographs accurately document the gathering of the jet set around the famous “blue pool ” in Cap D’Antibes during the Cannes Film Festival , all shot between the 80’s and the 90’s. Some of the celebrities shot by Pigozzi include Elle Macpherson, Michael Douglas, Bono and many more.

Son of the French carmaker Simca, Johnny was born in Paris and now lives between NY, London, Paris and Antibes.  Johnny is one of the most colourful individuals you will ever meet! From wearing Bart Simpson shirts to hating kale with a passion, Johnny is charming, funny, intelligent and super creative. Aside from his artistic endeavour Johnny Pigozzi is an avid collector, having one of the largest collections of African Contemporary Art.

The event was fun, packed with great people and incredible decoration. All the crème de la crème of St Moritz attended and the night was a huge success . Wild Free Innocent said “I think one of the things that made this event so great is the juxtaposition of the colourful and playful pool decoration against the 30 black and white photographs – and on the upper floors against some of the gallery’s great pieces ranging from Yves Klein to Picasso.”

Pigozzi’s photographs, which have also have been shown at Gagosian – and are all an edition of one, with two artists proofs, and costing around $4,000; so very reasonably priced.

Biodynamic Wine: no hangover alternative?

“Ladies and gentleman let me introduce you to your new lifesaver : biodynamic wine !” says Olivia Innocenti Buckley of the Wild Free Innocent lifestyle blog.

Biodynamic Wine Production

What is Biodynamic?

Biodynamic refers to a particular type of farming that doesn’t use chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. Biodynamic agriculture is based on the work of Rudolf Steiner who aimed at the ecological self-sufficiency of farms as cohesive, interconnected living systems.

Biodynamic wine essentially means that no chemicals or fertilizers are allowed , which in turn makes the wine sulphite free and that is the good news as it is the sulphites which give us those horrid hangovers !

The Production of Biodynamic Wine

There are only about 620 biodynamic wine producers in the world as it is very difficult to achieve the biodynamic status. Prices of these are also a bit higher than your typical bottle due to the complex production process but totally worth it.

First of all you really feel you are drinking a cleaner more refined wine, secondly you can smell and taste the fruity hints much more and last but not the least you will not have a sore head the next day. This has been tried and tested by yours truly on several different occasions and never once did I feel bad the next day after drinking biodynamic wine !

It is slowly but surely finally becoming more popular so you can find some at your local supermarket (Waitrose has about 20 different types) and ask for some biodynamic wine at restaurants.

More than Organic

Make sure it is not only organic – it has to fully be biodynamic !

The Biodynamic Wine process : a holistic view of agriculture.

  • Fruit Days – ideal for harvesting
  • Root Days – ideal for pruning
  • Flower Days – ideal for resting
  • Leaf days- ideal for watering plants

Try it for Yourself

If you want a real taste of excellent biodynamic wine, head to 40 Maltby Street in London which has an incredible selection of chemical and pesticide-free wines and a delicious kitchen serving rustic organic food.

Massimo Listri – Master of interior photography

Massimo Listri - Italian Master of Interior photography
Massimo Listri

Florence born Massimo Listri discovered his passion for photography at the age of 16, motivated by the books and magazines that his father, a literary critic and journalist, used to receive at the family home. Massimo has become a world renowned master of interior photography having had access to some of the most unique and restricted places such as The Vatican Museum in Rome, Palazzo Pitti in Florence, The Morgan Library in NYC and Versailles.

Influenced by Piero della Francesca and Vermeer, Listri’s photographs have an incredible sense of depth due to the extended use of perspective and are able to transmit an almost deafening silence, as if time has stopped. As Massimo says ” My photography is an expression of tranquillity and silence in this chaotic society – a sense of perspective and equilibrium. This is therapy for the soul. Every time I take a photo it is like the first time a treasure is revealed, a first emotion, be it an empty room or the greatest treasures of the Vatican.”

Massimo Listri - Italian Master of Interior photography

Listri’s photographs are extremely decorative and have the capacity of filling a room and creating a sense of depth and volume even in a small space. Interior designers absolutely love his work as they fit so well in both contemporary and classic settings, plus his price point is very fair considering the artist’s extensive career – the most expensive piece being £20,000.

Massimo Listri is one of the most talented photographers of our time, not only for his ability to capture unique spaces but also because of the sense of cultural elevation one gets from looking at his work which is timeless and sophisticated.

One of these was an event with Italian brand Etro in their Bond Street store where fashion and art met in an incredible setting during Frieze Week 2012. The exhibition was a huge success and his photographs sold out in one night.
